Dr. Jack Boyd, M.D.

Dr. Boyd joined Heartland as a venture partner in 2012 with a specific focus on evaluating medical device investments of a cardiothoracic nature, including Heartlandᾼs investment in Organ Transport Systems. Dr. Boyd is the assistant professor of Surgery at the Indiana University of School of Medicine and is in the division of Cardiothoracic surgery and routinely runs the transplant teams for the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization.

Dr. Boyd did his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame and is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery residencies at Indiana University. He completed further training in minimally invasive cardiac surgery in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania and robotic cardiac surgery in Cincinnati. He has since joined the IU faculty as an assistant professor of surgery. Dr. Boydᾼs professional interests include minimally invasive valve surgery, robotically assisted cardiac surgery (revascularization, arrhythmia, and valvular), off-pump coronary artery bypass, and arrhythmia surgery. Dr. Boyd has several manuscripts that have been published in the Journal of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery and Annals of Thoracic Surgery, as well as presentations at the American College of Surgeons 90 th Annual Clinical Congress and the Indiana Chapter of the American College
of Surgeons Annual Meeting.
